Ahmed Istiakur Rahman
Ahmed Istiakur Rahman, an educator from Sylhet, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in EEE from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in May 2023. During his undergraduate years, he was part of the IUT Mars Rover-Team Avijatrik, competing in global events like the European Rover Challenge (ERC). Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, his team designed a ventilator model to aid healthcare efforts. Now, as a lecturer in EEE, he inspires students with his passion for innovation and dedication to making a difference.

Award
He received a government scholarship during his high school years. With the IUT Mars Rover team, he attained significant accomplishments, securing 10th place globally and 1st place in Bangladesh in the European Rover Challenge (ERC) and the International Rover Design Challenge (IRDC) competitions.
Research Activities
His research work during his undergrad thesis focused on the critical research area of optimizing the sizing of hybrid renewable energy systems, which include photovoltaic (PV), wind turbines (WT), concentrated solar power (CSP), thermal energy storage (TES), and hydrogen fuel cells (HFC). The aim was to develop efficient and cost-effective designs by balancing energy supply and demand while considering the intermittent nature of renewable resources.
