Fuad Ahmed
Fuad Ahmed completed his M.Sc. in Computer Science specialization in web technology from Oxford Brookes University, Oxford UK in 2005 and B. Sc. (Hons.) in Computing & Information System from London Metropolitan University, London UK in 2004. After return from the UK, he joined as a junior software developer at a Software Development Team of a reputed bank in Dhaka in December 2006. He started his teaching profession at Metropolitan University, Sylhet on 13th May 2006 and was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor on 1st July 2009. During his long teaching career, he has been supervising many software development projects and theses. Besides teaching, he developed a Content Management System (CMS) and maintained the Metropolitan University’s web portal from January 2010 to June 2013. He has been developing the Enterprise Resource Planning Software for Metropolitan University named MUERP from 2013 along with a colleague and pulled the project in the position of running the core functionalities in 2014. The total academic activities of all the departments are being coordinated through MUERP. He was selected the member of Self Assessment Committee, Department of CSE (IQAC) in July 2018. He was appointed the Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering on 8th march 2018.

Achievements
In January 2017, he was selected as Center Coordinator of BAS-FSIBL-Science Olympiad. Metropolitan University, Sylhet was selected divisional venue. The program was successfully organized under his coordination in 2017 and 2018. In 2016, he has participated in ‘Idea Stage’ of Connecting Startup Bangladesh competition (jointly organized by ICT Division and Bangladesh Hi Tech Park Authority). There he submitted his project idea “KajerKaji.com, a mobile and web-based platform for blue collar job seekers”. His project was selected out of best 25 projects by three levels of filtering. He was awarded a free working space in Janata Tower Software Technology Park, Kawran Bazar, Dhaka. The space has been allocated for next one year. In 2007, he formed a software development unit under the Department of CSE called MUSoft, under this unit he developed many commercial web application along with his students. His M.Sc. Dissertation topic was “Tele-ordering System using SALT and Microsoft SASDK v1.0”. I had been awarded Distinction on his Dissertation He achieved MCP (exam 70-310): XML Web Services and server components with MS Visual Basic .Net and MS Visual C# on November 2005. He provided production assistance to Mr. Sufi Faruq Ibne Abubakar in his publication of the book ISP Setup Manual Step by Step guide for ISP and corporate Network in 2004, which was duly acknowledged by the author in his book. He successfully completed the course RedHat Linux Certified Engineer (RHCE) on August 2004.
